Dezna
is a middle village from western Romania
situated in the district of Arad in a very
picturesque place with hills that can reach up to
900 metres. Hills that are called: Western
Hills
.
In the neighborhood of Dezna are several
villages:like Moneasa to the east,Buhani to the
west, Laz to the south and Slatina to the North.
The bigest city near Dezna is Sebisa small city
I'd call it because it's population is only about
7000 people. Dezna's population is about 1000
people and most of them are roumanians.
There are two small rivers flowing through Dezna:
Valea Monesei and valea Zugaului, these two rivers
connect and give birth to Valea Deznei a medium
river that flows for a distance of 20 km!How I
said before Dezna's relief is dominated by hills
with a height between 200 and 800 metres.Heighest
hills are situated near Valea Zugaului and can
reach
800
metres, hills like:Capu Dealului, Piatra
Dăneştilor
Dealurile Gonţăului.

Some of these hills have volcanic origins and
thousands of years before were big
volcanos. But all these hills are situated near
the western chain of Carpathians Mountains. One of
the highests mountains from Europe with altitudes
reaching 2400 metres. These hills are covered by
thick oak and pine forests, in these forests live
thousands of wild animals that
create an amazing fauna. You can find
wolfes,foxes,deers,bears,boars,squirlles,lynx.Or
big birds like hawks or owls.
You
can find in Dezna a lot of traditions and customs
very old. A few years ago all the people from the
village
gathered in the centre of the village to dance
their specific romanian dances, all dressed up in
their fancy clothes.
But know these customs were abandoned, by
missfortune and the new generation from dezna
prefer to practice customs
and brought from western europe and Usa.Anyway, I
hope I convinced you to come in Romania and visit
Dezna, you'll find here a lot of warm and
hospitable people ready to welcome you and look
after you.
